Personal Profile
Describe your personality and character: Funny, outgoing, smart, loving, always willing to stand up for those who can’t speak for themselves (i.e. animals, children, and the elderly). I keep pet food in my car for hungry animals. My family and I always adopt a needy family for Christmas; I volunteer to help with the residents of the nursing home where I work and I volunteer for the local animal shelter.
How do you think others would describe you? Dependable, kind, always willing to help, funny, optimistic and having a strong sense of morals.
What would you say is your strongest personal trait and why? My sense of morals. I couldn’t sleep at night knowing that I had witnessed an injustice and hadn’t spoken up. Helping those in need makes me feel complete as a person.
What is your favorite sport? Hockey
Describe your own athletic ability/skills: I was pretty good at softball and track.
What is your favorite type of music? Classic Rock, 80s, Pop
Why is this your favorite type of music? It brings back memories and feelings from my childhood. Describe your own musical abilities/skills: I don’t really have any! The maternal side of my family is very musically gifted though.
Describe any other special talents, skills, hobbies or interests you may have: I’m good at teaching others and explaining why things work. I’m a wonderful problem-solver and I am a “people person.” People seem to be drawn to me.
What is your favorite book? Flowers in the Attic Why? I couldn’t put it down; the story was so interesting and heart-wrenching.
What is your favorite movie? AI (Artificial Intelligence)
Why? It’s not like any move I’ve ever seen before. It’s about an artificial child who develops the ability to feel love for his “mother” but the humans don’t realize that he has real feelings. I wanted to comfort that child so badly!
Describe your own artistic abilities/skills: I was a very creative and artistic child. Arts and crafts were some of my favorite hobbies.
Have you had any unique travel experiences that you feel have helped shape your way of thinking and/or the way you live your life?
Sadly, I have not yet had an opportunity to travel very much, however I would love to go to Moorea. It’s part of the Tahitian islands. I think it would be the ultimate tropical vacation!
Have you had any unique experiences with volunteer work? By volunteering to spend quality time with the residents where I work, I encounter what I consider to be “unique” experiences often. Forming bonds with the residents who have little or now family is very rewarding.
If you were given enough funds to spend one year of your life to engage in any recreational, political, religious/spiritual, or other endeavor of particular importance to you, what would you choose to do? I would spend every day working with the Humane Society and/or the ASPCA. If money wasn’t an issue, I would like to help animals recover from abuse and neglect. I would also like to start a local, low-cost spay/neuter program.
Philosophies and Thoughts
What is your philosophy on life? There are too many possibilities in life to spend it not being happy. Make a conscious decision to be happy and you will have a happy life!
How did you come to have this philosophy on life? I’ve had many conversations with elderly people who regret not doing more of what made them happy when they were able. You shouldn’t look back on your life and realize that you weren’t happy because you deprived yourself of happiness.
What is your ultimate goal and ambition in life? Start my career, raise happy children, and retire early!
How do you plan on achieving this goal? By finishing school and making good investments. I hope to always make my future children feel like they are the number one priority in my life.
Why do you want to be an egg donor? I was given an assignment in my Ethics class to write a paper on whether it was right or wrong to donate eggs or sperm to help people have children who aren’t able. After doing the research for my paper, I decided that wanting a child so badly and not being able to have one would be devastating. If it’s possible that I can help someone have a child of their own, I want to help them out.
What do you think egg donation means to potential recipients? I think it means everything.
What are your thoughts on egg donation as a fertility option? If I were unable to use my own eggs to conceive a child, I would love having the option of choosing a donor. It’s a way for the parents to know about the genetic background of the child they are going to raise and for the intended mother to experience bonding through pregnancy.
