Personal Profile

Describe your personality and character: I am warm, compassionate, and generous, with a very positive attitude.

How do you think others would describe you?
They would describe me as a patient and loving mother, a good listener, and wise beyond my years. (And hopefully fun to be around!)

What would you say is your strongest personal trait and why?
My positive outlook on life. I believe that no matter what we go through, we are so blessed to be alive.

What is your favorite sport?
I really don’t pay attention to sports unless my kids are playing them.
Describe your own athletic ability/skills: I was very athletic when I was younger and I have stayed in pretty good shape just by having respect for what I put in my body and keeping my anxiety level down through yoga and running.

What is your favorite type of music? I really love all music except country and hard core rock.
Why is this your favorite type?
Music can evoke so many emotions. One beautiful classical piece can give you peace and serenity, where pop music makes you want to get up and shake it!
Describe your own musical abilities/skills: I play piano and took several years of classical vocal training. My daughter is very musical as well-she began writing her own music at age 7.

Describe any other special talents, skills, hobbies or interests you may have: I love scuba diving and wish I could do it more often.

What is your favorite book? Bitter is the New Black
Why? It’s crass and makes you laugh out loud.

What is your favorite movie?
Memoirs of a Geisha
Why?
It is beautiful on so many levels: the intricate way the story of each character is told, the theme of these characters overcoming the hardest of obstacles, and even just the amazing scenery-I think I’ll go watch it again!
Describe your own artistic abilities/skills:
I write, paint, sketch, and am a pretty well known makeup artist in my area. My son is also an incredible artist. He would rather be sketching than watching TV.

Have you had any unique travel experiences that you feel have helped shape your way of thinking and/or the way you live your life?
I have friends that live in Houston, Austin and San Diego and when I have gone to visit them, my desire to travel grows even stronger. If I could figure out how to travel for a living, I would do that too.

Have you had any unique educational experiences? I became a mother at a very young age and immediately decided to grow up and put my children before myself. I devoted the first couple of years just to raising them. Later, after going through a divorce, I put myself through college while trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life, but when it came time to pick a major, I realized that I was already doing what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. So I left school and have poured my energy into the magazine I write for. It has paid off, because within the next year, I will have ownership and full creative control over it.

Have you had any unique experiences with volunteer work? My children and I are currently working on a project to encourage people in our city to use canvas shopping bags versus paper or plastic. We have already found a supplier and a sponsor to help cover the costs. This project, “Bags for a Better Tomorrow” is actually headed up by my daughter-she is so amazing!

If you were given enough funds to spend one year of your life to engage in any recreational, political, religious/spiritual, or other endeavor of particular importance to you, what would you choose to do?
First, I would take a couple of my friends (other single moms) on a much needed vacation. Then I would travel with my children for leisure and also mission work, so that they could experience both ends of the spectrum-the amazing places God has created as well as the hardships that much of the world has to endure.

Philosophies and Thoughts

What is your philosophy on life? Live in such a way that you will have no regrets.

How did you come to have this philosophy on life? Early on I made some poor decisions because it was the easy way out at the time and I have had to work so much harder to overcome those things that I regret. I now know that even though it may be harder to do the right thing and people may not always agree with you, the pain and suffering you can save yourself is immeasurable. In the end, you only have to answer to God and yourself.

What is your ultimate goal and ambition in life? My goals are to continue to raise my children in the most loving environment as possible and to continue putting positive energy into my career. My long term goals are to build my business into a multi-million dollar company and sell it. I would then spend my time enjoying life and hopefully helping others to enjoy theirs as well.

How do you plan on achieving this goal? By continuing to have a positive attitude and giving to others along the way. God gives seed to sowers.

Why do you want to be an egg donor? I, being only slightly biased, believe that my children are the smartest, healthiest, most beautiful children on earth. If I could help a couple bring other children into this world that will bless them as my children have blessed me, then there is no greater gift.

What do you think egg donation means to potential recipients? The chance to love someone more than they have ever imagined possible.

What are your thoughts on egg donation as a fertility option? I think it is amazing where technology has taken us. That bringing new life into this world is now an option for people who may not have been able to do so otherwise.

Is there anything else you would like to share about yourself that we haven’t asked? I send all of my love and encouragement to any of the couples who would give me the honor of helping them.
