Describe your personality and character: I’m outgoing, fun, interesting, determined, curious, and a loving person. I take life for what it is worth and I am constantly striving to better myself.
How do you think others would describe you? Fun, happy, compassionate, strong, dependable.
What would you say is your strongest personal trait and why? I am trustworthy and caring. I think this is important because most relationships are based on trust.
What is your favorite sport? Soccer
Describe your own athletic ability/skills: I am good with my feet. I can do any type of athletics as long as someone explains the rules to me.
What is your favorite type of music? I love all music, but I really enjoy Spanish Pop.
Why is this your favorite type of music? I play the flute, hand bells, and cymbals.
Describe your own musical abilities/skills: I’m just learning to play guitar. I used to play the clarinet, flute and keyboard. I’m a fast learner.
Describe any other special talents, skills, hobbies or interests you may have: I love traveling, I like watching movies, I love church and spending time with my friends and family.
What is your favorite book? I don’t have one, but I like non-fiction books.
Why? I love real-life stories.
What is your favorite movie? Crash
Why? Because it shows how all the ethnic groups in the movie were all connected.
Describe your own artistic abilities/skills: I can do the basics of art.
Do you speak any foreign languages? Spanish
Have you had any unique travel experiences that you feel have helped shape your way of thinking and/or the way you live your life? On my mission trip to Costa Rica, I learned not to take the place I live in for granted. There are many people who are so poor there.
Have you had any unique educational experiences? I studied abroad in England for three weeks and Italy for one week. Some of my unique experiences were seeing things that I had studied in history and geography classes in person. It was really neat to see how people live in other countries and the similar things we have in common.
Have you had any unique experiences with volunteer work? I participated with PALS (Peer Assistance, Leadership, and Support), which is a peer-to-peer outreach program for elementary and middle school students. It helps improve school attendance, reduce drug and alcohol abuse, promotes a positive school climate, increases academic success, responsible behavior, and involvement in community service. I volunteered with the elementary school and helped second graders prepare for upcoming exams, helped them to read, and played games. I have also spent time visiting nursing homes and participating in church mission trips.
If you were given enough funds to spend one year of your life to engage in any recreational, political, religious/spiritual, or other endeavor of particular importance to you, what would you choose to do? I would want to go and help unfortunate people because I have been very blessed in having the things I have today. |
