Have you had any unique travel experiences that you feel have helped shape your way of thinking and/or the way you live your life?
When I was 15, I went with a youth group to Mexico for 2 weeks to teach Bible School at a church there. Having grown up in a very small, sheltered community, I had never been exposed to another culture. It was very eye-opening to see how different cultures live. We were living in tents in an extremely poor area so it made me very appreciative of what I have and how grateful people who live in poverty are of what they have.
Have you had any unique educational experiences? I went to a trade school to become a make-up artist. I enjoyed it immensely and it showed me a different way of looking at people and their features.
Have you had any unique experiences with volunteer work? Aside from my volunteer trip to Mexico, I’ve done other volunteer work. I used to go with my mom to the local nursing home when she was the activities director there to help out. Recently, I’ve been volunteering at the local Humane Center for a few years, helping to socialize (tame) the feral cats that are brought in.
If you were given enough funds to spend one year of your life to engage in any recreational, political, religious/spiritual, or other endeavor of particular importance to you, what would you choose to do? I would spend a lot of time exploring this fascinating world of ours, travelling all over, as many places as I could to experience as many different ways of life as I could. I would also like to spend time in Africa working with an organization I have been supporting over there that deals with finding housing and medical aid for refugees who have been affected by the genocides and militia wars. |

What is your philosophy on life? I believe that everything happens for a reason even if we don’t always understand it at the time. I also believe in karma to a degree, in that you should always try to do good and if your heart is sincere, good things will come your way.
How did you come to have this philosophy on life? I would say my religious upbringing definitely affected my beliefs to a degree, but I consider myself more spiritual than religious at this point. I think life experience in general has shaped my philosophies.
What is your ultimate goal and ambition in life? My ultimate goal is to do as much good as possible for as many people as possible whether that means traveling to poverty-stricken areas or just making someone who crosses my bath smile in some way. I’m also happy and feel rewarded when people appreciate my creativity and artwork.
How do you plan on achieving this goal? Creatively, I’ve been achieving my goals thus far and the sky is the limit! I just intend on growing as an artist as I gain more experience. As far as humanitarian efforts, I intend on continuing to be involved with various organizations and eventually participating in a more hands on way.
Why do you want to be an egg donor? I have done it in the past and found it to be a very rewarding experience. My eldest sister had a bit of trouble conceiving her first child so I saw first hand the emotions that to into trying to start a family. Being able to help in some way with that process is a positive experience to me.
What do you think egg donation means to potential recipients? I think it is a very emotional process to go through and I try my best to make everything go as smoothly as possible for them.
What are your thoughts on egg donation as a fertility option? I believe that everyone should have a chance to make their dreams come true and if having a family is one of their dreams, I think that people should be able to do whatever they choose in order to achieve that dream.
Is there anything else you would like to share about yourself that we haven’t asked? I would just like to say that I know what it feels like to want something very badly and all the emotion and frustration that can go with it so if I can help in any way to help a loving family become complete, I would be honored to be chosen. |
