How do you think others would describe you? Kind, friendly, unique, funny.
What would you say is your strongest personal trait and why? I’m genuine. I try to consider life from all points of view and appreciate all types of people.
What is your favorite sport? Tennis
Describe your own athletic ability/skills: I’m good at what I put my mind to. I enjoy Bikram yoga, tennis, and dodge ball with friends.
What is your favorite type of music? Any music with a good beat and rhythm.
Why is this your favorite type of music? I like to “feel” what I hear; I enjoy singing along and tapping my feet.
Describe your own musical abilities/skills: I enjoy piano sometimes in my spare time. I have taken a college course on technique with piano too.
Describe any other special talents, skills, hobbies or interests you may have: Knitting, bicycling, cooking, bingo, sewing, and gardening.
What is your favorite book? Mutant Message Down Under (Marlo Morgan)
Why? It’s inspiring and true, about the lives of the Aboriginal people.
What is your favorite movie? I love many movies.
Describe your own artistic abilities/skills: I enjoy making things for myself and others, especially practical things like purses or placemats. I love to sew.
Do you speak any foreign languages? American Sign Language
Have you had any unique travel experiences that you feel have helped shape your way of thinking and/or the way you live your life? I traveled to Australia for 3 weeks in 2005. I always knew that I wanted to travel and understand other cultures but after that trip, I have had much more passion about seeing the world.
Have you had any unique educational experiences? Australia was very educational. Also, when I was 13, I traveled to Washington D.C. and learned much about the government.
Have you had any unique experiences with volunteer work? I volunteered with Key Club in high school and tutored elementary students in an after school program. I also helped out at the Boys and Girls Club.
If you were given enough funds to spend one year of your life to engage in any recreational, political, religious/spiritual, or other endeavor of particular importance to you, what would you choose to do? I would use all the funds to support myself while I used my time traveling to less fortunate countries and getting together with organizations for feeding, teaching, and building in those communities. I would also take yoga teaching retreats and learn as much about different subjects as I could.
